Random thoughts

Today as I sit here, I have several thoughts going through my mind.  First one is my reliance on gadgets for entertainment.  Several days ago my wii stopped working!  I use it to view netflix.  Yesterday my ps3 stopped working!  I almost shed a tear! All who really know me understand how much I enjoy my ps3!  Today my computer did the blue screen thing!  Arghhhhhhhh.....But at least the computer started working again!! 

What did we do before all this?  For me being disabled,  all of the gadgets help me with all the time I have on my hands!  It's not a bad thing, but it makes me take a step back and be thankful for all that I do have! 

My second thought is this: Our assistant pastor is pastor over the student ministry at Purdue.  My hat goes off to him for learning Spanish!  Check out his blog,...http://www.movementcampuschurch.com/

Great Quote

I was watching a movie on netflix  today and there was a quote that I really liked on it.  "The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for a good man to do nothing!" Edmund Burke.  I hope that I am man enough that when I see something evil I can do something about it and not look the other way!  Just a simple thought worth thinking about.

Family time,

I am the most fortunate this July 4th holiday because my son and his wife came home to spend time with us! He hasn't been home in 2 years so it was a great time. Both he and his wife helped me and my wife in several computer related efforts!
Sad day today, they just left!  It brings back so many memories of my wife and I when we were younger!  For many years we would bring our children to Indiana from Minn, so my wife's parents could spend time with the grandkids and of course we with her parents!  But the leaving was so hard on my wife and her parents would stand on the curb until we were out of sight!  We just did the same with my son!
I am thankful for a daughter-in-law who is perfect for my son!

Gas or Charcoal

It's that time of the year!  Yup.  Time to fire up the ole grill.  Actually, it's been up and running since Memorial day! 
Now I have this dillema, my wife likes charcoal, but I like gas!  I'm the one doing the grilling, so shouldn't I be the one to choose which to use?  hahaha
We have a charcoal grill!  Up until today, I would have said that I don't care, and stick to my liking of gas, but I have to say, I think I can change my mind!
I grilled a pork loin on the charcoal today and it was, wait for it, wait for it, AWESOME!  It tasted so, so good, my mouth is drooling at the thought! 
It took about 50 minutes on a med. heat.  I can't wait until tomorrow to have it again for lunch!
